Supporters of the effort to repeal Washington’s new income tax say voter interest is exceeding anything they've experienced in previous initiative campaigns. According to organizers with Let’s Go Washington, concerns about the long-term future of the tax are driving a surge in volunteer participation, petition requests, and voter engagement across the state. TOP STORY: ORGANIZERS REPORT RECORD RESPONSE According to campaign organizers: “The response to the initiatives this year is unlike anything we've seen before.” Supporters say the level of engagement is surpassing even last year's successful Initiative 2066 campaign, which overturned Washington's natural gas restrictions. Organizers argue: ➡️ Voters are increasingly concerned about tax policy ➡️ More residents are getting involved in the initiative process ➡️ Interest continues to grow as signature gathering expands statewide FEARS OF FUTURE TAX EXPANSION According to organizers, one of the most common concerns they hear involves the possibility that the tax could eventually expand beyond its current scope. Campaign supporters say many residents tell them: “I'm not going to be paying this tax right off the bat, but I know eventually it's going to come for me.” Organizers claim voters are worried about: ➡️ Future lawmakers lowering income thresholds ➡️ Additional taxes on individuals and businesses ➡️ Long-term economic impacts on Washington residents Some supporters also report hearing from residents who say they are considering relocating if taxes continue to increase. SIGNATURE DRIVE CONTINUES Campaign leaders say: Volunteer participation remains strong Petition requests continue to increase Supporters are actively helping gather signatures across Washington Organizers believe the issue is motivating voters who may not typically participate in initiative campaigns. The repeal effort will need to gather enough valid signatures to qualify for a statewide vote. WHY THIS MATTERS This impacts: Washington tax policy Ballot initiatives Business confidence Economic competitiveness Voter participation State revenue debates The debate over Washington's income tax continues to shape political discussions across the state as supporters and opponents prepare for a potential November vote. #WashingtonState #IncomeTax #Taxes #Politics #LetsGoWashington #BreakingNews #WashingtonPolitics #Economy #BallotInitiative #USNews
