Greg Abbott expressed confidence that Texas can prevent and ultimately eradicate the New World screwworm threat, pointing to successful efforts in the past and ongoing cooperation between ranchers, veterinarians, state officials, and federal agencies. Abbott encouraged Texans to remain vigilant, particularly pet owners and livestock producers, while emphasizing the importance of monitoring animals and staying informed as prevention efforts continue. The issue remains a major concern for the agricultural sector because of the potential impact on livestock, ranching operations, food production, and rural economies if the pest were to spread. #Texas #GregAbbott #Agriculture #Livestock #Ranching #Cattle #Biosecurity #FoodSupply #Farming #Agribusiness #Pets #TexasNews #BreakingNews #AgricultureNews #USDA
