Florida officials are launching a new effort aimed at protecting taxpayer dollars and strengthening oversight of the state's Medicaid program. Governor Ron DeSantis announced a Medicaid Integrity Initiative designed to identify fraud, improve accountability, and prevent improper payments within Florida's healthcare system. The initiative includes enhanced provider screening, enrollment moratoriums for certain high-risk provider categories, and new tools designed to detect potential fraud schemes, including stolen identities and concealed ownership structures. As part of the reforms, providers participating in Florida Medicaid will be required to revalidate their credentials. Providers who fail to comply with the new requirements could be removed from the program. State officials say the goal is to improve program integrity, reduce waste, and ensure Medicaid resources are directed toward eligible patients and legitimate healthcare providers. #Medicaid #MedicaidFraud #RonDeSantis #Florida #TaxpayerMoney #GovernmentSpending #Healthcare #HealthcareFraud #FiscalResponsibility #GovernmentAccountability #Economics #Finance #PublicPolicy #BreakingNews #FloridaPolitics
