A new Voters' Voice poll offers insight into how Americans view artificial intelligence, government regulation, and the future of AI policy. According to the survey, 45% of registered voters believe there is too little government regulation of artificial intelligence, while only 13% say there is too much. Another 23% believe the current level of regulation is about right. The poll also found broad opposition to granting artificial intelligence legal rights or personhood. Seventy-seven percent of registered voters said AI should always be treated as a tool controlled by humans rather than as an entity entitled to legal rights.
