DESCRIPTION
Washington’s 4th Congressional District race is set for November after a crowded 11-candidate primary.
Republican Amanda McKinney leads the field with roughly 34.8% of the vote, while her Democratic opponent has secured just under 30% in a traditionally Republican Central Washington district.
McKinney says she is humbled by the primary results and confident she can effectively represent Central Washington in Congress. Her Democratic opponent, meanwhile, describes himself as a “working class Democrat” and argues he can win support from some conservative voters by focusing on economic and tax issues.
With Rep. Dan Newhouse not seeking reelection, voters will now decide who takes over the open WA-04 seat in November.
