DESCRIPTION
Washington's Public Disclosure Commission is moving forward with a formal investigation stemming from a complaint involving Let’s Go Washington and Undivided podcast host Brandi Kruse. Sammamish City Councilmember Pam Stuart filed the complaint in May in her capacity with Washingtonians for Ethical Government, alleging campaign-finance violations involving Kruse’s commentary supporting ballot initiatives backed by Let’s Go Washington. The complaint alleges at least 159 instances of political advertising. Kruse disputes the allegations, saying she has never been paid by Let’s Go Washington to support its initiatives and arguing that assigning a monetary value to her political commentary raises serious questions about free speech. Let’s Go Washington founder Brian Heywood likewise says the organization has never paid Kruse and characterizes the complaint as politically motivated. PDC Executive Director Peter Lavallee said staff opened a formal investigation following a preliminary review and held an initial hearing on August 12. The PDC noted that the hearing was not an adjudicative proceeding and that staff have several avenues available to resolve complaints. The dispute comes ahead of Washington’s November election, when voters will decide several high-profile initiatives backed by Let’s Go Washington. #BrandiKruse #LetsGoWashington #WashingtonState #WashingtonPolitics #WApolitics #WashingtonNews #PDC #PublicDisclosureCommission #CampaignFinance #FirstAmendment #FreeSpeech #BallotInitiatives #WashingtonElection #Election2026 #ParentalRights #GirlsSports #BrianHeywood #SeattleNews #GovernmentAccountability #WashingtonInFocus #TheCenterSquare
