The U.S. debt has more than doubled from $16 trillion in 2013 to $40 trillion today. A measure has be reintroduced in Congress to curb the growth of the debt 6 out of 7 of the Congresses since 2013 but has been referred to committee and not voted on each time. The legislation has lost cosponsors each time it has been reintroduced. As the debt hits another mile marker at $40 trillion this week people are once again wondering if anything will be done to curb the growth.
