Greg Bishop reviews reaction to President Joe Biden’s commutation of Rita Crundwell, the former Dixon Clerk who was convicted and sentenced to 20 years in 2013 for embezzling $54 million from taxpayers. The commutation was among nearly 1,500 and announced alongside more than 30 pardons, including of an Illinois woman convicted of a nonviolent drug offense.
