DESCRIPTION
Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker says he’s disappointed in Tuesday’s election outcome with Donald Trump retaking the White House, but he is prepared for what may come. While Illinois went to Vice President Kamala Harris 53% to 45%, Trump did win most of the state’s counties. Regardless, Trump swept swing states and captured the necessary Electoral College votes and the popular vote. Republicans also captured the U.S. Senate and are predicted to hold onto the House, with several dozen races still to be decided nationwide. “Donald Trump will be our next president. He won the election and we must all be willing to work together for the common good,” Pritzker said Thursday.
