From January 2024 in front of the Illinois Supreme Court, arguments in the case People v. Redmond from, representing the state, attorney Mitchell Ness, representing Ryan Redmond, attorney Bruce Carman and representing Vincent Molina, attorney James Mertes. Thursday, the court ruled cannabis odor alone can not justify a warrantless search of a vehicle.
