Claims About Dangers Of AI Swirl, Trump Calls AI Fears a 'Hoax'

1mo ago · 5:55

AI regulation just became a midterm election flashpoint. President Trump and Attorney General Todd Blanche are calling Democrats' sudden alarm over AI a political hoax timed to the midterms. New York Governor Kathy Hochul says if Washington won't regulate AI, her state will — and she's rolled out new guidelines for communities weighing data center projects. Meanwhile, the data center fights are already playing out on the ground: a legal battle in Pennsylvania over a 693-acre project outside Harrisburg, a new community agreement in Tennessee tied to an $11.3 billion campus, and Ohio's Buckeye Institute arguing states shouldn't halt data centers — just make sure they cover their own costs.
