Audit Finds $119 Million in Questionable Spending at Tennessee Schools

A new audit of Memphis-Shelby County Schools has uncovered more than $119 million in questionable costs, including over $54 million in suspected waste, fraud, and abuse, according to Tennessee Comptroller Jason Mumpower. Among the audit's biggest findings is a $48.4 million custodial services contract that was awarded to a single vendor despite recommendations that multiple vendors be selected.
